Strawberry's World.

Well guys, It finally happened. I'm pleased to announce that "On Their Journeys", my newest art installation, officially opened on November 11 (yesterday) to what seemed like much fanfare. This build is is a 3d immersion installation based on two paintings of mine called "Certainty" and "Reality" when combined, they're called "On Their Journeys".

The beginning represents reality in a lot of ways for me. It's a symbolic woman just beginning to find her way. When you reach the end of a build, you find a confidant woman in her element: where I want to be. I don't know how much of this translates to the audience, though I'm not really sure it matters. People like the interactive elements, and once they're on the journey, it's archetypal elements, stairs, paths, clocks, trees, buildings resonate with anyone, reminding them of the journey that they're on. It doesn't all have to be about me, me, me. (though that's fun too!)

Most of the elements of "On Their Journeys" are available for purchase either by purchasing the object directly, or by visiting the gift shop located at the landing point in "Strawberry's World". There's also a little donation station this time, as my tier on the land is 30k, and I'm trying to raise that this time, so I can keep the pieces alive, without diving into my real life pocketbook.

This is the first time I've ever dedicated any piece of art to anyone (I think, if I'm wrong, correct me, please). And as I say in the exhibit info at "On Their Journey's", "This build is dedicated to Savannah Nihilist. She's the sweetest, most generous person I know in real life, Second Life and all the places between. Without her generosity, this build would not have been possible. In kindness and goodness, I strive to be like her."

That's all true. Savannah loaned me a computer that is what made this new build possible. Also she and WendyofNeverland encouraged me to explore SL, checking out cool builds like Straylight, The new Light Waves build and the other Rezzable Sims, Burning Life, and the Sculptie Competitions in Luna. If I hadn't been pulled out of my shell, I would never have become aware of what Second Life was really capable of Art Wise, and I may never have started building Fishbowl, which is what lead to all this!

WendyofNeverland Fussbudget has also made an impact in my second life. Savannah used to always remind me in real life that Wendy was real, and not just a cartoon, and recently Wendy's role has, as I said in the exhibit info "grown from that of a muse to that of a friend." Our friendship is deeper than cartoons, for sure!

Last but not least, I want to thank Torley. His bright colors, tips of the day, flickrifficness, and general creativity are an inspiration to me, and many other SL avs, but specifically I want to thank Torley for the generous use of his music in the build, which adds the perfect ambiance and feel! He rocks my socks.

Please come to see On their Journeys in world.
